 Real Housewives star Teddi Mellencamp was hospitalized due to multiple brain tumors discovered by doctors on Tuesday, with her doctor discovering "multiple tumors".


Reports surfaced that "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star, Kyle Richards was experiencing "severe and debilitating headaches", before seeking medical assistance as per an Instagram posting made on Wednesday.

"Yesterday the pain was excruciatingly unbearable and required hospitalization. After performing both CT scan and MRI exams, doctors identified multiple tumors on Mellencamp's brain which have likely been growing for at least 6 months," as stated on her blog.

Today two tumors will be surgically removed with smaller tumors being treated using radiation in the future.

Mellencamp's medical team have not disclosed which specific cancerous cells they found or how long Mellencamp will remain hospitalized.

sdsMellencamp, 43 years old, decided to cut her hair in preparation for surgery to eliminate two tumors from her scalp.


"This look wasn't on my bucket list," she announced as she was being helped to cut it by one of her close friends.


She expressed her appreciation to those helping to restore her to better health - such as children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who all are doing everything in their power.


"Thank you to everyone who has reached out and shown support throughout my journey," she wrote in her Instagram message.


Mellencamp posted to her Instagram Story that God only gives difficult tasks to those capable of handling them, reminding herself to remain confident while trusting in their surgeons - knowing everything will go smoothly."
